Computer manipulated photograph of a motorized sculpture by the same name. The sculpture, (exhibited in Events at the Horizon, a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago,) is a 5.5 foot conical shape made of fake fur. It has an interior motor that spins the form slowly, mimicking the ritual performed by the Sufis of the Muslim sect known as the Whirling Dervishes. In the Sema ritual whirling is a method through which the annihilation of ego is achieved. The computer manipulated image shows the world from the viewpoint of the spinning object revealing a stillness at the center.
